Island Barn Aggregates

Island Barn Aggregates is a joint venture operation between Lafarge Aggregates and Cemex.

The Quarry and operations are based at Molesey Reservoirs near Walton on Thames in Surrey.

In late 2006 we were contacted and asked to review the replacement of the current sand system which was nearing the end of its useful operational life span.

The brief was to offer a system that could increase the production of sand and therefore enable the maximum use of the existing washing plant.

Uppermost on the client’s specific requirements were simplicity of function, long working life with “no decrease in efficiency during this period” low maintenance and wear costs, together with limited disruption and down time during installation.

APS reviewed these parameters with the customer and the decision was made to offer the TRIO TT4432 Twin Sand recovery unit.

The unit was installed early in 2007. In testimony to the selection “It has exceeded all expectations” and the clients are extremely pleased with this installation.
